Heart Failure

Heart failure is a common, costly, and potentially fatal condition. In 2015 it affected about 40 million people globally. Overall around 2% of adults have heart failure and among those over the age of 65, this increases to 6–10%. The risk of death is about 35% which gets decreases to below 10% each year.In United Kingdom the disease is the reason for 5% of emergency hospital admissions.

Myocardial infarction, hypertension (increases the force of contraction) and amyloidosis (in which misfolded proteins are deposited in the heart muscle) are wide number of conditions which reduces the efficiency of the heart muscle causing the heart failure through damage. More over these increases the workload which will produce changes to the heart
