Cardiac Surgery and Heart devices

Cardiac surgery is a surgery on the heart or great vessels performed by cardiac surgeons. The complications of ischemic heart disease, congenital heart disease and valvular  heart disease can also be treated through various causes such as endocarditis, rheumatic disease.

Implantable dvices are those used to treat the heart disease over several decades. Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) – a microcomputer which is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, it is  implanted under the skin of your upper chest area such that  it monitors your heart rate and delivers therapy in the form of small electrical pulses.

A cardiac resynchronization therapy implantable cardioverter defibrillator (CRT-D) is a type of specialized ICD used to treat heart failure.Before surgery, medication is usually given to make you sleepy and comfortable. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.
